Atlantic City Blackjack
Atlantic City Blackjack is played with 8
decks of 52 cards, you are allowed to play one hand at a time, there
is a hole card, and the dealer must stand on a soft 17. Blackjack
pays 3 to 2 in this variation (as with most others), you are allowed
to surrender, you can double, re-split up to 2 times and can double
after a split. The decks are shuffled after each game to ensure
fairness. And in Atlantic City Blackjack, you have an option called
“Late Surrender”. This option allows you to give up half of your
original bet so that you don’t have to play out the current hand.
Other special rules that apply to this variation of Blackjack
include the splitting rule, which in this variation states that if
you split any pair of cards and end up with 21, this is not
considered a Blackjack. You can split a max of 3 times per hand
(which would give you a total of 4 hands in one round), except in
the case of Aces, which can only be split once. If you choose to
split aces, you get only one card for each ace and then the hand
stands. The Double Down Rules for Atlantic City Blackjack are
relatively simple. You are allowed to double down after a split, but
not on a blackjack.
Finally, you can take Insurance only if the Dealer’s face-up card
is an Ace. This insurance is a bet that is half of your original
wager and is separate from your original bet. Insurance only covers
your primary hand, in other words, it doesn’t cover any splits or
double down bets. If you choose to take insurance and the dealer
doesn’t have Blackjack, your insurance bet is lost and the game
continues. If the dealer does have Blackjack, your pay out is 2 to
1.
