Multi-Hand Blackjack
Multi-Hand Blackjack is a Blackjack variation that
is played with 5 decks of 52 cards that are re-shuffled after each
round. In this variation, you are allowed to “hit” up to five times
(for a total of 7 cards) as long as the point value of your hand
doesn’t go over 21. The dealer has to stand on soft 17. If the
dealer busts, the player automatically wins the hand. As with most
other variations of the game, if you beat the dealer with Blackjack,
you are paid 3 to 2. Your original wager is returned to you in the
case of a “Push”, even if both you and the dealer have a Blackjack.
The Splitting Rules of Multi-player Blackjack are simple. They
include the fact that you can split any two cards that can be
considered a pair, such as a pair of 3s or a pair of Jacks. Unlike
some other variations of Blackjack, you are not allowed to split
cards with the same value such as a Queen and Jack. Also, any split
hand that would normally be considered a Blackjack, is simply a 21,
as split hands are not considered Blackjacks. There are also
specific Double Down Rules that you should be aware of before
playing Multi-player Blackjack. First of all, you are only permitted
to Double Down on a hand with a value of either 9, 10 or 11.
Secondly, as the name suggests, a Double Down Bet simply doubles
your original bet.
In Multi-player Blackjack, you are allowed to take insurance when
the dealer’s first card is an Ace. That insurance bet is half of
your original wager, and is completely separate from your main
wager. You can only take insurance on your original hand meaning
that you can not take Insurance after a “hit”, “split” or “double
down” bet. If the Dealer’s hand is not Blackjack, your insurance bet
is taken from the table and your insurance bet is deducted from your
current balance. If the dealer does have Blackjack, your bet is paid
out at 2 to 1.
