Vegas Downtown Blackjack
Vegas Downtown Blackjack is a variation
of Blackjack that is played with 2 decks of 52 cards that are
re-shuffled after each round. Because it is an American Hole Card
Game, the dealer must check for a Blackjack if they get a 10, Face
Card or an Ace. The game will be over if the dealer has Blackjack.
In Vegas Downtown Blackjack you are allowed to “Hit” up to nine
times as long as you don’t bust. The dealer must hit on a soft 17.
If the dealer busts, you win no matter what the value of your hand
is. If you get a Blackjack, you are paid 3 to 2 unless the dealer
also got Blackjack, then the hand is a “Push”.
Vegas Downtown Blackjack allows you to split any two cards that
are equal in value, such as a King and a Ten or two Sixes. As in
other versions of Blackjack, any “Blackjack” obtained after a Split
is not considered or paid as a Blackjack. You are also permitted to
Split as many as three times per round, except for Aces, you can
only split Aces one time per round. Also, if you decide to split
Aces, you can not hit on the split cards, you only get one card per
Ace and then your hand stands. If you choose to Double Down in Vegas
Downtown Blackjack, you are allowed to Double Down after a Split.
The final information that you need to have regards the Insurance
Rules as they apply to Vegas Downtown Blackjack. You are able to
take Insurance only if the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace. An
Insurance bet is half of your original bet and wins or losses on an
Insurance bet is always separate from your original bet.
